About Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic - Functional Medicine In Wichita

Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic

Women’s health care at Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic is more than practicing gynecology, it is care of the whole woman.

Rather than individual symptoms or diseases being treated, emphasis is put on the whole woman because many factors contribute to women’s health throughout differing stages of her life. This integrative approach allows the focus to be on treating a root cause of various problems as opposed to symptoms alone. Once the source of the problem is identified a safe and effective treatment plan can be created that is appropriate for a specific patient.

Some concerns we help women with include (not limited to):

-Optimizing health to prepare for pregnancy

-Fertility struggles

-Irregular period

-Painful periods

-Menopause

-PMS

-PCOS

-Endometriosis

-Osteoporosis

-Ovarian cysts

-Sexual discomfort

-Pelvic pain

Many times the answers we are seeking are found in lab or other imaging studies. Some examples of testing that may assist in our treatment plan include (not limited to):

-Hormone panel

-Thyroid panel

-Adrenal testing

-Sonogram

-DEXA scan (for bone density)

-Blood count

-Metabolic panel

-Ferritin

Sometimes a patient may need services that are available outside the clinic with a collaborating professional such as nutrition counseling, acupuncture, physical therapy, exercise programs, mind-body medicine, among others.

How are we different?

At Wichita Health and Wellness, we separate ourselves from other offices for multiple reasons. As mentioned previously, the idea is finding the root cause of a patient’s concern. Traditionally in a conventional setting, options are provided to patients that treat the symptoms, ultimately allowing the underlying cause to continue unaddressed. Often times a person’s lifestyle may need modification as it relates to nutrition, physical activity, eliminating toxin/chemical exposure, endocrine disruptors etc. Other circumstances may best benefit from utilization of supplements or herbal medicines, hormone replacement therapy, and sometimes pharmaceutical therapies. Specifically relating to women’s health, Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic is different than a traditional women’s health clinic. One example is PMS: while a conventional setting may prescribe antidepressants, alternative options may include supporting female hormones with appropriate supplements and assessing certain hormone labs at specific times during a menstrual cycle. Another example is irregular periods: this may traditionally be treated with hormonal birth control pills but may be managed more naturally with stress management, hormone supporting supplements, or removing exposures that have an action on hormone receptors. Endometriosis is commonly treated with surgical options; however, many patients find relief by instituting changes that reduce inflammation among other supportive options. Another way we separate ourselves is by spending adequate time with the patient. In a traditional setting, you may notice your appointment slot is within a 10 or 20 minute window. Here at Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic, we have a different style of clinical medicine. We are able to spend 30-60 minutes with a patient, allowing for a more thorough and extensive history to be obtained.

If you are struggling with any wellness concerns you believe may be affecting your overall health as a woman, please call Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic to make an appointment with Sarah, the women’s health nurse practitioner.

Our Core

Values Of Care

An Integrative Approach

Unlike conventional medical care, we first help patients heal and then empower them with the knowledge and tools to avoid many of the pitfalls that created their illness in the first place. No matter where you are right now... with our expert guidance you can heal and lead a vibrant life!

Guided step-by-step by our care team, you will implement an integrative approach to your wellness, drawing from the most up-to-date nutritional science and lifestyle medicine, to significantly improve your health and alleviate symptoms.

Personalized Care

Not only is each patient biologically unique , but their illness is unique too. There are so many factors that may be to blame for your illness – from lifestyle choices, food choices, allergies and even toxins in your immediate environment... plus let's not forget mindset (which plays a big role of your health).

.After we do your intake, we may conduct further specialty lab tests (that your current doctor may not even know about). Plus, we also use other assessment tools to get the full picture of your health so that with a precise diagnosis, we can come up with a precise "healing prescription".

Co-Creating Health

Changing your lifestyle may seem daunting, but we teach you how to use mindset tools to overcome stubborn habits that aren't serving you any longer. We make the prospect of getting healthy "fun" and have a wide range of tools in place to support you during your health transformation and beyond.

We also leverage health coaching and other forms of support and accountability so your new healing lifestyle practices can become an integral part of your everyday life. We also harness the support of online communities to give you support remotely, as you make important changes that translate into lasting health.

Dedicated Attention

In your typical 7-minute doctor's visit, there is little time to understand the depth of your illness... let alone the contributing factors that may have caused it.

During your in-depth intake consultation, we take the time needed, one-on-one, to conduct a thorough review to understand all the potential triggers for your illness. This review includes your past medical history, your past and present diet, environment, stress levels, and gut health. Your in-depth health history is the start to unraveling the root causes of you illness.

Root Cause Resolution

Unlike conventionally-trained doctors, our care team always focuses on getting to the root causes of your illness. We also examine the key cellular imbalances that are responsible for virtually all symptoms you’re experiencing right now.

Also known as functional medicine, our care is so effective because we focus on dealing with the "up-stream" catalyst of chronic illnesses – including toxicity in your home or work-place, potential food intolerances and allergies, gut & hormonal imbalances, along with mindset issue that all determine how healthy you are to date.

Innovative Treatments

Did you know that it takes on average 17 years for clinical breakthroughs to make their way into your conventional doctor's office? That means many health care practitioners are dispensing outdated advice and not using the best lab testing available for your case. Chances are they are not even aware of the proper testing that could make all the difference in your healing plan.

At Wichita Health and Hormone Clinic, we are trained in up-to-date medicine – including the best, most advanced testing and we pair that with current nutritional science so that you can finally achieve your health goals .
